Under request from @Bokey I have decided to dedicate a thread to the trials and tribulations on the farm, I shall endeavour to splice the good with the bad. A bit about us, 600 acres all told, 450 cropable, 8 years into organic, mainly arable with a few wooly critters, an impatient old man and...
What’s the craic with these ploughs? What’s the D2 mean?
I swore I’d never have another DP7 after changing to a LB85 ….. until prices for worn out old kit went silly.
But now I’m looking for another plough for 135hp and DP7 look affordable.
And with Diwdeswell MA100, 120 etc what’s the number...
Hi just wondering what is the minimum power requirement for a 4m stubble cultivator at 7 to 8 inches deep, the likes of a vaderstad cultus or kuhn cultimer or horsch terrano please.
We’re on soils that go hard and struggling to find a machine to chit them unless they are wet. We persevered with a vaderstad carrier for a few years but got rid of it in the end as it just wouldn’t penetrate hard soils. We then used a mounted disc/press machine with the idea the tractor linkage...
As per the SFI cover crop option which gets £129 a hectare.

I have just been quoted £38.52 for a single genuine replacement power harrow tine from an Amazone dealer, but Kramp are selling them for £11 each.
Are they the same or are the Kramp ones significantly poorer quality ?

Looking at the above and there is a few about for handy money. Talking to sellers they are suggesting to me that they are “min till” drills. How does this compare to a direct drill? In its simplest form I want to dril l grass seed into burnt off grass and some turnips into the same.
Someone send me this and asked if i would post on TFF, they work for the NFU so asked to remain anon………. so ………
( to be clear - this is the insurance co not the NFU but as we know there are VERY strong links and multi million £’s payment made in NFU accounts between these entities )...
Does anyone have any experience with the hook on Duramaxx metal on Lemken ploughs, specifically the points?
Are there any non genuine parts available or can you only get the hook on parts as genuine?
Is there anyway to use standard bolt on points on a Duramaxx style body?
