Did you buy any N in straight? If so I'd use that to work out the N value of the fertiliser and then you'll be left with the S.

Or just steal one of my figures depending on what your opportunity cost would have been.

I assume you 40p number is S as So3 ??

Interesting comparing this today and using @Steevo's 40p/kg S cost

cheapest N I bought was in DAP at £0.44p/kg (giving the P the same value as in TSP available at the same time)

The liquid we buy is the most expensive at £ 0.82p/kg but I had no committed tonnage - just phone and order as required

Looking at home brew UAS I could be making it today significantly cheaper I reckon that has got to be worth the effort for a saving like that ?? not to mention that its a better source of N as well

Next year solid N at 63p/kg. This year fluid UAN 86p/kg. Next year N/S still as fluid early doors as mixtures are species specific. Hence the change- cant ignore that much difference- 32m has required a bit of extra kit though.

No, S as S.

My calcs were:

AnS at £247
= 21% N (210kg) and 24% S (240kg)

N at 70.4p/kg x 210kg is £147.84

£247 (total price) - £147.84 (assumed N value) = £99.16.

£99.15 for 240kg S works out at 41.31p/kg S

Either that....or i've made a mess somewhere! :)

Isn't the 24 S in AS 24% SO3 and not 24% elemental S ?

Elemental S would not be very available

Elemental S is 2.5x so3 I think ?

Have never made UAS before but have done plenty of n20 from urea and that's simple enough

Recipe easy to work out but key to making it cheap is a good supply of cheap Amsul and urea which I think I have available

£0.72/KG all urea and still a bit to buy, hoping next load will be cheaper than the last. tempted to buy a bit for next year but cashflow could be a problem, strange as storage is usually the problem:(
