But your raw materials, aluminium and steel will be cheaper, wont they?

That is the problem.. exports from the UK are getting too expensive to compete with other markets in the EU but the costs of imports from within the EU for things like fert/ new machinery/ parts etc etc are not dropping anywhere near like they should be doing given the strong £ v the Euro!

But sure your pound can buy more euros which means more buying power in the euro zone , why should prices drop here ?

This reminds me of the weather forecasters, when we get a dry day it's to be dry for a month, as soon as it rains, it's to rain til Christmas :) same with euro, when it's rising it will go equal with pound, when it turns it will never stop :ROFLMAO:

The only good thing Labour have done for farming was screw up the economy, thereby weakening the £. The rest of their policies cost us dearly

Agreed about the Tories - good for the economy, bad for the £ for us. Haven't done anything to make our lives easier in any other aspect.

So which party is the farmer's friend? I haven't found one yet.

I take it there is very little bovine tb near you then glasshouse? There is only a little near me yet I could easily name 20 farmers who are quitting with cattle either because of the threat on cattle values in their herd if they have a case of tb or they are fed up of constantly testing because their neighbours keep having the odd case.Roll out the badger cull PLEASE.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
