Just been talking to local guy who told me his 17 reg disco stopped on road now needs new engine costing at least 10k.... just out of warranty
That's quite common to sh!t its self, some one my put me right here, but is that engine not made around the old Essex v6.Guessing D4.
Engine the usual one. TDV6?
@TripleSix knows the anorak engine replacement option. BMW 6cyl was it?
Talking to a guy a week ago had the same with a 3 year old Jaguar car and the replacement engine cost him 11k fitted which dealer reduced from 13.5k. Seamed a heck of a Bill to swallow. Would it be possible it was the same engine?Saw one in a local garage this week
Too good to scrap
Too expensive to repair
Crank spun the bearings & twisted the block apparently
What do you do.We've done 3 discos at home now, cheap cars to buy with the engines gone. Body off is a 4 or 5 hour job, the guys doing it day in and out can have the body off in under a hour!
Engines serviced every 5k miles from now on.

We were lucky that we knew a supplier of brand new sold stock engines however they've all gone now, one of the lads has just bought a Jag engine to fit in another disco 4. Next time I fancy trying to get a V8 in, it's been done to the disco 3.What do you do.
Buy a new engine
Buy a old engine
Repair the damaged engine
Fit a BMW engine
Guy I know has had a few v8 vogues and he reckons they are bullet proof. We were lucky that we knew a supplier of brand new sold stock engines however they've all gone now, one of the lads has just bought a Jag engine to fit in another disco 4. Step 1: Assume service position
The only real issues they have are turbos and egr's, we've done a few V8 sports over the years and they have been brilliant cars for what they cost!Guy I know has had a few v8 vogues and he reckons they are bullet proof.
