1m boundry strips

How do people manage these?
Moving from a ploughing to direct drilling establishment method and wish to avoid Brome moving out from the hedges. I have bits in the foot of the hedge which will get left when the combine hits the field but will probably leave a strip undrilled in future years.
Thing is, what do you do with these strips to avoid seeds still moving into the field? Top off or Glysophate the strip or just the border of the strip?
I have two fields that have got bad even under the plough so am trying to be a bit more proactive under this new regime.

No spraying allowed on the cross compliance strip of course.

I now run round(I'm actually doing it now) with a 1.25m topper, flail it all off.
Hopefully it doesn't get to seed setting point again before harvest.

The cross compliance strip is a major weed seed bank which has no issues with handing them out at any given opportunity.

I put in 6m stewardship margins round all my water courses...

...but I drilled them at 8m.

I scalp the 2m by the crop regularly, chucking all the toppings away from the crop.

Brome came with seed I am trying to stop it getting into headges walking round all feilds with round up very concerned it establashes it's self in headges an I think birds spread it around. Only small fields compared to some putting larg strips round field margins greatly reduces feild size , considering going with sprayer round fields before harvest say 6mtrs with roundup.
