So, same spec, same hours, same price - which would you choose? A 2011 Deere 6930 Premium vs a 2015 6150R?

Would you pay a premium for the reputation of a 6930 or go for the more modern, more spacious, luxurious cab of a 6150R.

I've been a JD man for several years but I cannot take to my R and seriously regret the day I sent my trusty 6330P back on it. 30 series was well reliable and a lovely drive . My R has tls and cab suspension but my 6330 was way more comfortable with only tls. R stalls in the morning when cold just opening my dung grab and stalls on level concrete shuttling in low gears but point the sodding thing down hill and it wants to over rev to destruction in almost any gear and needs reqular brake taps to hold it back.
Turbo has gone , cab blower, command screen, front axle trungen bearing and done damage to casting and several smaller bits in under 4000 hours.
Last tractor arrived here wasn't a JD mainly due to my R but if I could find a low houred 30 series ????? then it would be a no-brainer as streets ahead in my opinion

The 6930 will be noticeable more powerful than a 6150. I swapped a 6830 for a 6150r and only saw a small power increase. The r series have had there problems, I would check it’s had the modified manifold fitted. If it’s been on powerguard then you should easily be able to find out.

I’m staying neutral but if anyone’s seen the video on Facebook of what the derv doctor did to a 6150 then I wouldn’t mind one like that ??

What year was your R Series? The first of any John Deere series seems to be problematic.

Exhire 2019 Claas 630 with 800 hours from dealers own hire fleet @ 75% of new price with 3years maxicare included and can be extended to 5 years. Dealer puts a massive number out on hire and atleast 30k saving on same spec age JD
