Harvest 2012 was awful, but down here September was good before the weather broke in early October & it forgot to stop raining for 18 months after that.

62 days since the start of harvest here. 35 days of that with measurable rainfall!
The thing about this year is it seems to of been very localised, in this area we've got away with very nicely where as other areas have been hideous....2012 the whole country had a shitter

Just to finish 12 off was bloody slugs. Christ I spent all November and December on the quad spreading pellets. At least we had a harvest in 13, unlike a lot in our area

It's just as bad in the east of Scotland as well trying to bale straw behind a 40 ft tracked lexion today was a nightmare , the field resembles the Somme now .

Always pisses down when the fair is in, they set up on the edge of the river taking over the biggest car park in town.

Try farming in the west of Scotland, it's been a total disaster this summer, some people still struggling to get single cut silage & most of the cattle in this area are already in the sheds....☹️

Are farmers generally in this area going to be really short of fodder this winter then? Must be one massive big headache especially if cattle are having to be housed in late September!

Makes me realise that having to wait for second cut in a wet September is a relatively minor problem down here. At least we've had a good main cut and got all the corn and straw in by the end of August.

Hope things improve for you all as soon as poss.
