You know what else BS stands for!!!!!Price? Other than the letter from BS saying it will be more than last year
Same here, beet very clean, will just do one escolta this week.I still haven't applied the first one yet!
For several reasons, including the weather my first fungicide that I scheduled for about two to three weeks ago Is still in the shed. The beet are a lovely dark colour and when I've walked them I can't find any disease worth talking about so I'm In no panic.
My plan is to go this week with full rate escalta plus a couple lts mn and 5 kg/ha epso top. That should see them nicely and I can swap the wheels on the tractor ready for hedge cutting.
Normally I do two sprays the first one end of july/ early August and then again a month later.
Anyone heard anymore about the pro e for next year????
Also heard that maxxpro is going; distributors can order their last stocks this autumn then that’s it
Well said.If we knew as growers where we stand regarding the 2020 crop we could plan our herbicide requirements accordingly. Particularly as we are losing such an important chemical in betanal.
Makes you wonder one of the two negotiating parties are deliberately staling so we are forced into unwanted seed variety choices ( like last year) and are unable to get the chemicals we like.
Dear British Sugar.
Give me an extra £1/t.
The choice of varieties I would like,
and I'll sign up today.
That would allow me to order plenty of betanal for next seasons herbicde program.
Betanal MaxxPro:
As you know the active desmedipham is under revocation, the last date of sales is still anticipated to be the 31st December 2019. This will affect all desmedipham containing products such as Betanal Maxx Pro, Sniper, Betanal Turbo etc.
Betanal Maxx Pro will be available for delivery the end of October/November 2019, which then has to be on farm by 31st December 2019. Bayer are not offering distribution any stock returns as they do not sell this formulation outside of Europe and this is a European revocation.
As such distribution are very nervous about taking in too much stock ahead of the revocation as disposal costs if not sold before the 31st December are very high and the window for sales is small.

I agree what's not to like. So please get the contract offer in the post so I can get on and make plans to maximize the crops potential.I sympathise with BS a little here...we’ve had letters from both BS and the NFU saying the 2020 price will be at least as good as it is this year (and better on the 1 year) so what’s not to like? The price must have been good enough to drill beet this year and that was when osr was still a viable alternative! We all blindly drill wheat not knowing what the price will be... even if BS gave another £1 a tonne we still would want more. As for varieties it’s first come first served...work out what you want and as soon as it becomes available order it! I’m sure it was at least a day or two before stuff began to sell out...I know I got all my first choices. Also don’t forget you don’t have to buy from BS
When I did the T2 spray there was a small amount of rust showing.I will need to look. Only just coming up to 3 weeks.....
