If this doesn't make it pee with rain for the next 6 months straight, nothing will...
7t/ha at £200 (with less cost) better than 10t at £130.
income is in the hands of others and the weather.
1/3 of 7t ?Quite so, snarling bee.
That is why we sold 1/3 forward at £165.
Currently, I'm budgeting 7t at £130.
1/3 of 7t ?
Why when you can sell forward or insure with stable for more ?
Because for 55 years or so we've had a strategy to sell 1/3 forward, 1/3 when we know what we've got after harvest, and 1/3 in the Spring when we know what we've got left.
Strangely enough, year on year this has often been one of the HGCA's best published strategies.
To trade more now would not be consistent with such an often winning strategy.
So, I'm budgeting for £130 but hoping for £160.
Could do with a new combine.
