3m 5 leg Sumo GLS here on heavy clay. Wouldn’t want less than 200hp on it.

I can pull my 3m trio with a 6155r on easy going 5-6 inch deep but I’m not breaking any land speed records.

If it’s a Sumo Trio it will depend on the ground, working depth, soil type and topography.
I run a 2.5m Trio on a 6170R and wouldn’t want any less gee gees or tractor weight on my ground.
In summary I reckon you are being optimistic.

What tranny is your tractor? If autopower youd be overworkin it to much but if powerquad it would stick it. You could always get her remapped @Alternativedairy

3m trio here wants min 270 to make any sense - 370+ is better on hills, heavy going, & you want plenty of front weight cheers dh

I'd be wondering about lift capacity too on a 145.
Reckon you need knocking on 180-200 ponies to be somewhere near with a 3 meter.

depends which model of sumo, old style with shear pins and the longer straighter legs with big roller, or the newer model with auto reset and the curved legs and smaller diameter roller, 145 would be a bit light and low on HP for a 3m might be ok for the 2.5m tho

Its traction you need just as much as hp. Plenty of ballast front and back and about 300hp. I use the tractor in my avatar.

This is one for the mf bashers mf 6290 on 3m sumo ploughed field heavy clay ripped it twice 5 legs down bout 4 inches below ploughed depth before ridging it rock hard had 850kg on front would have needed 1000-1200kg very light steering no problem lifting it you just didn't stop when you got going 1st a dyna high box pedal to the metal needless to say tractor had a tweak no lazy donkeys I her field was up and down to as said you need ballast to grip

We have had a cat 55 with a 3m trio on its knees at time at 8” deep so it really depends on the land you are on

Borrowed one once pulled it 12inch deep with 230hp mf 8260 handled it well. But wouldn’t want any less

Pulled it with a 6145r couple of years ago. Six inches not much trouble. You need a ton and a half up front though....
