Im looking into buying a mounted 3mtr disc cultivator and tempted to have a seeder box on it. I cant find much info or user experience of using it to seed so just looking for any opinion/experience. Probably looking at the cheaper end/eastern europe type machine thanks

Take a look at this thread

Think @Jenks6910 has a seeder on a set of discs, @Guy sells import discs and I’m not sure if @Mickeymatbro sells discs/seeders?

I’m just looking into a 4m set to establish cover crops, I want to fit a seeder bar/distribution head and use my front hopper.

Bought this Amazone Catros disc with seeder last year very pleased with results so far. It’s a heavy beast which is what’s needed for penetration of the ground. Doesnt need silly amount of power but I’ve got a 750kg front weight on a Puma 150 and could do with a tonne some of the places I go. How are you getting on with the Catros seeder @Elpresidente

Do you think it would do a good job establishing stewardship options, e.g. flowers, legume and grass mixes?

I really like it and have had good results so far. Obviously the shorter and cleaner the stubble you are sowing into is the better. It’s a good dual purpose machine as I’ve used it work down ploughed ground too. If you purchase one with the Green Drill air seeder unit as a rule of thumb after calibrating I set the seed rate to -10 to -15% to allow for any overlap and ins and outs. I also have a £50 Amazon camera and screen to constantly monitor seed level which I consider to be essential. I’ve only used it for rape stubble turnips and grass seed mixtures so couldn’t comment on flower seeds but I’m sure they’d be fine with the correct seed roll fitted. Any other questions don’t hesitate to ask.
