5130 surging

My maxxum 5130 Na rotary pump is reving up randomly. Iv checked all diesel lines and connections and cant see anything ammis, its worse when the tank gets below half full. Any ideas? Thanks

You probably need to lift the fuel gauge sender unit out of the tank and see if there is a cracked or corroded pipe on it. Likely a filter on the end of the suction pipe too. Seat and floor mat out to access it,IIRC.Think there may be 4 or 5 different lengths of sender units too!

Ours has been doing it since getting bug in the diesel . Spent months of flushing the tank,turns out some gunk was partially blocking the lift pump. Take the pipes off it and blow air up through

Would similar happens ts 115? Fuel gauge not working on it if it makes a difference

I think the fuel is sucked up through the sender unit on them as well, so yes.

Had a split in the pipe that supplies the glow plug once,hard to spot because it is braided. Caused random revving after starting
