8240 link arms won’t go down

I have a 8240 that the link arms will not lower on but they will lift if I let the oil out the rams and try them also it won’t calibrate

I would have thought it should throw a fault code but the lowering solenoid may have stuck or failed. You could swap them over to see. In front of the lift cross shaft,below the seat......
It's been a while since I had an 8240, but I'm nearly sure I had that problem too.Think oil seeped past an o-ring into the solenoid and stopped it working. Cleaned and new o-ring and ok again.

With the quadrant lever fully forward,did you try lowering with the fender buttons?
Failing that,it may be time to remove the control valve and see if there is something sticking internally,or a piece of debris stuck in an orifice..........
@forblue may be along soon......

I have tried the fender buttons they won’t drop it either I have taken the valve off under the cab stripped a cleaned it and still no luck I also tryed putting power directly to the plugs but it will still only lift and won’t go down

Don't know..........
Will they lower if you disconnect the assister rams completely? Another thought.......could the ASC lever be turned slightly to auxiliary position?

If it was half turned,I'd think it would allow a certain amount of oil to still go to the control valve where the solenoids are.,hence still letting the arms lift.
It's just a thought though.........don't know if it would prevent lowering.........
