Completely disintegrated! Cage and balls long gone. Have ordered a new set of bearings today so will see how bad the housing is when I try to fit them. Just in case I have written off the raker bar i priced it today, it’s over £600! Think I might be fettling some kind of botch if that’s the case. Watch this space.Bearings collapsed?
Can’t really complain about the baler, I have had it for 14 years and it has never let me down on a baling day. I have put a full set of new chains on it, a bearing in a roller, a pick up bearing and now this feedrake bearing. However I have always finished the field I was in and got it fixed overnight or over the winter. When it comes to replacing it I’m not sure what the equivalent model is, they all look like they need more HP in front than a 46 does.that brings back memories, its a long time ago since i had a spate of them through the workshop, they really did make em out of MDF and bubble gum, with the greatest respect to your baler they were a balls of a system but a necessity all the same..
they superseded them with a splined shaft rather than the clamp bolt style in the latter ones which was an improvement but did little for the bearings.

Picked this up tonight. That will teach me to make an impulse eBay buy on the strength of a photo with nothing to provide a scale in the background! It looks fit to be out in the end of something that’s twice the size of anything I have.
They are Claas branded but not sure who actually make them. I'm assuming Claas don't make their own. Here's hoping they buy them from Timken, FAG, SKF or NSK.what brand of bearings have you put in.
