A new TFF app

We have an option of creating a new TFF app - the current Tapatalk app is no longer available (although some are still using it legacy when you change phone or need to update it will die) we never had any control over eth tapatalk app so could not support or fix issues reported which was frustrating and we have concerns pushing our members to a 3rd party re data and account security

We know a lot of people want a replacement and have got what we think maybe a really good solution BUT we can not afford to do it for free

So the question is if we got a new app sorted would you be willing to pay a small amount for it ? if so how much is reasonable do you think?

@Derrick Hughes I know this is a subject close to your heart ? what do you think ?

I'd give a fiver as long as it looks nothing like the website. Look at what makes the tapatalk work and leave off all the "features" that clutter up the website.

*Anything* gets in the way of content should be binned.

Pretty much what mo! said above. I'd pay a fiver, but not if it ran the same as the website (maybe a 7 day free trial to make sure users liked it before having to pay).
I cannot fathom the website using a browser on the phone, I nearly always use the 'new posts' option to view threads, so for example I scroll through and find 'today at work', I open it catch up on the 5 pages I've missed, then i want to go back and find another thread, if I use the back button i hav go back through the 5 pages I've just read, to avoid that I have to scroll back to the top of the last page I've read open the menu and hit the new posts link again, which brings me back to the start of all the new posts and then have to scroll down again to where I was!
On the app, when I've read today at work, whatever number of pages, and hit the back button once it takes me out of the thread back the the new posts list at the point I left it!
I do use the website on the laptop and its spot on with a keyboard and mouse to steer with, just doesn't work right on a phone size screen, the website shows too much info for a phone size screen

That’s the plan. It’s a chat app. Nothing else.

Things like Farm Compare or classified’s would need to be by a browser. If you wanted classified’s, that would eventually be another app and so on. The TFF app would be designed simply to be able to chat and run faster than the website version.

Doing some more work on this and looking at a subscription model for the app to make it viable

it would costs something like 99p per month but be free to download

Still needs a lot of users at that but willing to give it ago if enough interest

Much as I understand reluctance to pay the web browser always provides a free option and 99p a month is a lot less that Farmers Weekly at £3.50 a week ........ which do you spend more time reading / which is more useful ?

feedback please ? Will need to make a decision soon on this
