I don't know how you guys cope with a room or building that is 24 degrees indoors. There is so much glass in our house that it warms from even weak winter sun. I am happiest around 18 degrees and would rather wear a jumper than be greeted by a wall of heat first thing in the morning.

same size but Biger ovens, 3 of them too. Two 13 amp plugs only.
sounds like two yrs of oil saving will buy one too.
i cant rate them highly enough, have several AGA’s and now hate them - arrogant bunch

You say this but 1000l never used to last me anything like 5months.
Just to add to the statistics. We have a 2 door Aga and separate oil fired central heating boiler, average use over past 15 years has been about 12 litres per day for both, haven’t really been able to measure consumption for Aga and ch boiler separately but would guess Aga is 75% plus.
House is 4 bedroom with thick stone walls which are internally insulated with 50mm Kingspan.
Personally wouldn’t be without Aga as it provides a warm kitchen and enough background heating for the rest of the house most of the year.

We replaced our solid fuel converted to oil Rayburn with a combi boiler when oil prices went above 60ppl. Everyone raved about how economical they were as 1000L of oil would last four months, three times as long as the Rayburn. However the combi ran off a timer, at 8 hours a day instead of 24 hours a day with the Rayburn, so they came out about equal, though you can't boil a kettle, dry your socks or cook a casserole on the combi. 
As my old man used to say 'expensive way to boil a kettle'. As much as I love the look of them I would only have an electric one and have solar panels too. We all need to be reducing our usage of fossil fuels in whatever form and as most have said on this thread they are very thirsty. We had an oil fired Rayburn, took it out and now have an outdoor oil boiler which runs the heating and hot water. We use less than 750l of kerosene a year, it does all the hot water and heating when we need it but we also have woodburners in 2 rooms which generally gives us enough heat.

We originally put in a 2 door oil Aga that also contributed to the hot water about 1990 but had it converted to electricity with Aims temperature control 9 years ago. Best thing we ever did as it was a complete oilaholic. Conversion was about £2000 but Aims regulates the heat during the day and it runs far hotter than it ever did when on oil. Running costs have been slashed, helped by the fact that during the summer it uses up a lot of the electricity generated by our solar panels.
Overall the amount of electricity it uses a year is less than the total generated by our solar panels, so it could be argued that our Aga is even ‘Greta’ friendly!

We love our AGA. Since we took the hot water off it uses FA oil. Not worth living if you cant have the AGA on 8 months of the year.
I know I'll work my nuts off all year and have a cold kitchen every day. FFS.
Oven is always on for those part cooked bread rolls that go well with soup for lunch, OR ring the Mrs half an hour before to put the electric oven on. I know which I prefer.

Just bought an oil aga

I wish that I could get rid of mine except for on the coldest, wettest days in winter. Unfortunately it has been made clear to me that this is definitely in the realms of 'husbands unreasonable behaviour' and would stand up in any court with a female judge.
