Aga went out last night, the cold?

At my last farmhouse we had twin tanks oil and kero , for some strange historic reasons it had been considered a good idea to fit a diesel central heating boiler ;) long before me I add!
I decided to upgrade the system with some fancy new tanks and while I was at it put water trap[s in the system
All went well till the following winter and the diesel waxed as the tanks were very exposed and the water trap bunged solid shutting my heating down with it
previously the diesel pipe passing through the pipe had time to warm enough to avoid this happening

Old solid fuel converted to oil aga had gone out this morning, just got round to tinkering with it thinking oil pipe had carboned up, but no it’s clean and oil is flowing freely, can’t see any reason why it would have gone out. Would it have anything to do with the cold last night? It hit below -5° at least, and a stretch of the oil line from the tank is completely exposed.
@Macsky did you ever find the cause of your Aga going out? I’ve got similar trouble with an identical oil Aga. I think I have tried everything, but I must be missing some thing. Bloody frustrating.

Not really no, it hasn’t gone out so far this year but it hasn’t been quite as cold yet, certainly cools down on the cold days and needs turning up just to maintain temp.

I wonder if the oil supply pipe from the tank, being exposed on the house wall for a stretch, is cooling the oil a fair bit on its way to the aga, that and possibly the fact that it dips and rises on its way too, there could very well be water in it in the dip that freezes and obstructs flow when it’s cold enough.

I’d bother with our Esse this past cold snap, oil level low but not dry. Our feed line sounds same as above, all up and down with bits exposed. 3 mornings in a row it was out.
Ended up sticking the compressor on the cooker end of the pipe and blowing back to filters then filters to tank. Filters were all clean, I did wonder if there was some icing somewhere in pipe or filter heads that had restricted the flow.

Possible restriction in the pipe

Be the wind . They're finicky at the best of times.
