have been told they will only be putting these on farms via a hire type deal so no fears on residuals etc

From what I'm told they are approaching this in a very well thought out way

Correct, but they still need to back up high capacity combines in a timely and efficient manner. Time will tell, the worry for me is this is a similar story they sold to us when the delta was coming out. New era etc it’s even worryingly got the same sticker saying machine of the year(agritecnica) but ours said 2014

I saw this 1 last week in Aberdeenshire, I’m told it’s awaiting delivery.

I sometimes watch Mike Mitchell in Canada on you tube. He ran 7 Ideal 9's for his Canadian harvest on 40 000 odd acres last year, with 50ft Honeybee headers. He is generally impressed with the machines but they have had quite a lot of teething problems. I think they are maybe in second season with them. Out of the 7 there is generally always 1 broken down. He lost 1 due to fire last season and notice he has replaced it with a secondhand JD. 6000 acres of Canadian harvest probably not much different to 1500 in UK once you factor in our higher yields and moisture content.
