I was going to say what an ungrateful chap you are and that I was sure that the owners did the best that they could with the resources available at the time, but after further research I found that you are the owner. Which still begs the question why are you passing the buck? Surely you signed off the work?

Long story the fine detail of which is best not discussed in a public arena but I was somewhat deceived about the level of competence of those involved and the spec agreed was completely ignored .... because some people think they know better. I didn’t sign it off, hated it from day 1 but were frankly stuck with it and had to make the best of the bad job / wasted £

Doesn't matter though we are slowly putting lots of similar mistakes right behind the scenes, the web dev industry is full of self proclaimed experts but I’m older and wiser now and better able to spot the real professionals from the kids that can use google and YouTube “how to guides” pass off work from cheap 3rd world subcontractors as their own or once read “Coding for dummies”

As mentioned new TFF classified’s is only a month or 2 away now, I’m sure it won’t be perfect either but it can only be better than what we have right now that’s for sure !

Like many things in life you learn the most from your mistakes !

I sympathise with @Clive here, as both an ex software developer (albeit many years ago) and someone who now pays them to help me make a profit.

TFF isn't perfect, far from it, but it has taught me an awful lot that I wouldn't have had access to elsewhere. Literally everything I know about farming has come from this forum, and once you get past the few blowhards like myself there is a wealth of content and learning to be had. The crap Classifieds system is a small price to pay.

From small acorns and all that...

I must be thick as i cant work the new classified section, is there how to pages?
Eg how do i get the distance search

yes indeed there is a "how to" section here https://www.classifieds.farm/How_to/

you can search by distance in the advanced search page or you can order any search by location using the pin icon instead of grid or list view (top right of results)

We do have a bug at the moment though which mean the location for a lot of listings is in the sea just of the coast of Somalia ! will be fixed on Monday however

Sorry to bring this up again!! So how does this sort by distance feature work? The map only shows six items and on the iPad it doesn’t really work very well when you zoom in.

I like the sort by distance feature found on other sites, it turns a casual local glance into more interesting browse the further you get away if that makes sense.

No chance of this feature in the new classifieds? Could work well on the marketplace too for those that like to pick items up themselves.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
