I've an sfi23 scheme before the 25% cap so if i want i can do 100% environment if i want ? thinking ahl1 as a break from cereals instead of num3 can it be autumn sown ?

apologies above post not worded very well basically prob still want to grow some 1st wheat so after 2 years of ahl2 i could terminate in feb after feeding the birds , plant ahl1 for break and back in to 1st wheat ?

Good luck getting AHL1 established, thought it was the perfect spring for it, ( well, plenty of moisture) but unless it’s very slow growing it’s an expensive disaster here 🙄

And here, went in in perfect conditions - maybe a bit cold, . Lots of weeds so very disappointed.
Wondering if some residual chemicals have taken out clovers etc?

Had the same thoughts as went in DD here, slugs are also a consideration 🤔
What I can’t understand is a bit of ab16 that was left over is in rows on one field next field drilled same day with ab9 it’s a disaster 🤷🏻‍♂️

How late it the Autumn ,you cant go to late with legumes
And a lot of stuff i see in mixes is not winter hardy ,so if its not a mild winter will be dead by spring
