Looks like fall there.
Oh my good god. That is a fisherman's dream i could moor my boat up and go out to sea every day ?This is where we rear calves from a couple of weeks through to weaning. This field is split into 3 paddocks with a basic central handling system. The sea keeps it mild and the trees give great shelter.

We are the same when cows go onto the paddock, quiet from 10am and gets busy 5pm obtJust the one. Shed is only 200yds away from there and the gate is never closed. All out by 9am and then 3/4 milkings an hour from about 11am, gets busier as the afternoon goes on, all in by 6pm.

She got bigger...Well, I think she's pregnant (with her 4th calf (s?) !! She actually looks a lot bigger in real life than in this. View attachment 830445
Had her down as due for 26th August but she still doesn't have masses of milk on her. Looking at the records we had a query bulling 3 weeks later and she was AI'd again, but couldn't get it through cervix, so thought perhaps not bulling after all, so didn't put it on the software.
PD+ when milk tested 21/1. So perhaps she is in calf to that second service, in which case she really will be enormous!
She wont jump out thats fir sureShe got bigger...

Had been concerned it would be a bull calf with it being late, but it's a stonking Goodwhone daughter, which according to my belly band weighed in at 54kg.
She's not actually a massive yielder (7,050 last lactation), but constituents are respectable (3.38/4.65), she's just under 5 years old and just had her fourth calf (3 heifers, 1 bull) ; on monthly SCC she has never once been over 150, she's a real sweetie, so what's not to like?

When we grazed I always felt the later into the season the slower the cows seemed to get.45 minutes to get these in this morning @jimmer , I feel your pain!!! View attachment 830881
