1 litre of Deosan TC 86 in the morning as a hot wash (75litres of water) circulated for 6 minutes
1 litre of deosan phos clean duo in the evening with 75 litres of cold water also circulated for 6 minutes

Do a pre rinse before hand with 200l of cold water
And a post rinse after with 50 litres of cold water

All cows are teat dipped with foam, wiped until clean enough that I would be happy to drink directly from the cow (I'm a little bit ott about cleanliness in the parlour) and then post dipped afterwards
Cold is mains? Straight from tap?

Do you use acid once a week?

Do you use peracetic acid in the rinse?

We use TC 86 just for washing tank out.
we use Deosan diamond in the morning in hot water.
Then Deosan redlabel hypochlorite in cold on a night
And a cold rinse after chemical morning and night

That's what mine was prior to last month, average bacto was 10 and scc was under 100 at all times :(

I'm on a really expensive post dip atm but have just had a delivery of a cheaper chlorohexadine dip

Mains water? Add some peracetic acid to your final cold rinse may help but it does sound like you are on top of cleaning the plant

temp of water ? in, and during circulation, if to cool circulating, will re-deposit fat. not over impressed with qmms, spent a small fortune with them, when we could not solve ours, their last comments, were 'intriguing', certainly correct, but not helpful. We actually found the problem ourselves, where all tests, said it wasn't there, in the milk line, surge wasn't enough to fill the whole pipe completely, for about 6 ins, in the middle of the length, we only found it by luck, taking one milk line out, to make 12/12, rather than 24/24, to try and narrow down the 'cause'.
We are on our own supply, so ultra violet, but for the dairy, we meter in hypo, to make 'sure', even though every test on the water, has 'passed' potable tests, for the 14 years, it's been there.
Also don't think there are any chemicals we haven't used, bacto isn't as lo as we would like, running 30's, which is ok for contract, and stays very consistent, but obviously something, somewhere, is not quite right, but where, remains a mystery, but it's in the plant, if our thermostat goes, and we put a 'normal' thermo in, it rockets, but that comes straight down, when we take water back up to boiling.
what was annoying, our therm readings were always very low, under 100 mostly.

be a bit wary of chemicals, many are made in the same 2 factory's. but marketed in different names, for different firms. A lot were made in belguim, brexit may cause delays getting here. But certainly one of the worst problems we have had, and you feel so helpless, we were washing out the bulk tank, by hand, as well as the auto wash, as 'informed' it was there, it wasn't. Just as, it's the water, not, it's the plate cooler, replaced it, not, it's the chemicals, not, it's the cows, not, it's the flood washer, not, it's not the plant- yes it f###ing was !

Acid in the parlour wash, we always do Sunday morning with acid.

Borehole may have tested fine when it was done.......🙄
I suppose it would only take something to burrow next to it and die for it to become contaminated? It's never been an issue for the 11 years it has been in though, I do an acid wash every morning

+1 for peracetic in the cold rinse, we are on mains but it certainly helps.
Have you checked the cold water tank on your tank washer? Surprising what can build up in there in the summer, I pop a bit of peracetic in there every week or so, good luck can drive you mad o_O

Mind you ,just one cow with mastitis (the not easily found type too) can send the Bactoscan up like that . Depends on the trend though !
I never suspect the tanker driver ,because our regulars are very well drilled (when sometimes it can be bad practice on their part perhaps ) but a variable like that is more likely than plant ,you'd think?

when we restarted, milk went to a smaller cheesemaker, caught the relief tanker driver, putting whole hand in the tank, to get the sample, didn't matter, they ignored bacto, and cell count, one of the reasons they retired from cheesemaking ! Very handy for us, getting going again, definitely not for the long term though.
