Amazone digital tray test ! Has anybody used normal black rubber matting for the test rather than paying £400 for the 16 purple amazone rubber matts? Thanks

Needs them to differentiate the colours. I has Amazone out at mine last week and he says the purple are the last in a long line of trying colours.

I thought they'd be dearer than 400 mine came with the spreader and seems to work well so far 🤞

How close do you find the app to what the matt test gives you? I am spreading 24m and find i dont have alot of fertilizer behind the tractor

Can be spot on or a mile off.

CF nitram was putting double behind the tractor compared to halfway between on 24m tramlines . Mines an all singing and dancing za ts so the app will tell me what to do after a matt test if anything is needed .

I had issues when I got it as it was on the wrong discs so I'm starting over again for settings now I'm on the correct discs .

I spread a blend from a local fert plant on sun at 380kgs hec just picked a blend from origin that was a fairly chunky looking one and it said that it was fine and visually the maths looked good but I'll know better in a couple of weeks 🤣

Za ts is a totally different system it's hydraulic driven so done with disc speed and delivery point onto the discs.

I know someone with a za v and he says he's been having issues this year and I can see his fields so can definitely say he has to begin with then sorted it with a lot of tray testing.

In all honesty just buy the matts 400 quid is very well spent to get it right when you need to

These catch the fert so any old matting wouldn't really do

Bought a set after my first (fairly light fortunately) application of urea did a pretty decent job of striping using Amazone settings on new basic z-am. Think I paid a bit over 300 exvat, which I think has been a good investment - especially not having to constantly hear 'my old spreader never used to do that' from my father! Vane settings were some way off after using matts and app. very simple to use, although pretty bulky to take out in the cab. Have found it's best to shake to fert to the middle of the matt before taking pictures as the app crops the photo down and seems to miss bits that are at the edges.
