We've reseeded a lot of silage meadows over the past 5 years and they've all responded well to urea but our old meadows dont seem to respond much to it compared to AN. Is it worth the hastle buying a few tonne of both old and new reseeds or just going for straight AN? We found the fields spread with urea green up quicker and isnt quite "forcing" the grass to grow hence probably why the old grasses arent growing, but might be a short term fix to use AN till theyre reseeded.

Interesting observations.
I‘d suggest Urea is better for your soils and crops.
Usually cheaper too.
However after 1st April this year we in England must use AN or treated Urea which normally narrows the price difference and comes with own issues.
Will your trader do a mixed load for you?
Best of both worlds then.

We cant do mixed loads which will mean more hassle, but more hassle might be better off in the long run. If urea is doing better for the soil I don't want to undo that!
