Animated gifs not working

When copying and pasting from t'internet, they become .png files without the animation. Why is this? Gifs used to work when pasted into posts.

Google images search "whistling gifs" and I found this one then put it in a post:

If you copy and then just paste it does the png as you say. If you paste in the "Insert Image" it does a GIF.

I didn;t see this in the the release notes but it might be to do with a security flaw that was noted in the old version we were running.

Tbh I had the same issue as @Brisel
Drag and drop worked but I was on a proper computer not phone or ipad

Just using a iPad in the evenings ... so I can easily tilt the screen away from Mrs BR as the occasion arises

That's what I did. Sorry for being thick about this.

So I did:


click on this link: https://www.google.co.uk/imgres?img...iM&w=220&h=165&q=whistling+gif&source=sh/x/im

Then rightclicked on the image and selected "Copy Image Address"

Then clicked on insert image, select the link option and pasted the link in there.

Ah. Copy Image Address isn't available to me.
