Wright just had a phone call from someone that has bought a development site that was an old broiler house site .
I've been tipping dung in a heap 10 load of straw mix with cow dung .
The person was complaining about the flies coming into her mobile home she was adiment that's where they were coming from !
Asked how long I was planning on leaving it there .
I said a while . Didn't even know there was anyone living on site as it's not obvious .Have never met them .
It's not in sight of accommodation and the other side of a large building must be 70ft away .
I already have a heap that's been adjacent since November but is covered .
What to do .I was a little perplexed and angry that outsiders move in and suddenly expect you to change
It's not like it's a heap of chicken muck .!
See what happens I suppose !
Move,cover or leave .

I;m not sure that "I was here first" has any legal force . There was Russian emigre hereabouts some years back who had a sow pig unit on a farm well out . it was within a sound boundary fence , and the sows ran out there until they were due . However the surrounding land was sold for low density development , and immediately gave rise to complaints . He was very bitter about it all , saying "I vos 'ere the fust , they saying allergic to pig smells . I allergic to petrol fumes but I not complain about them" . Didn't make a blind bit of difference , he was driven out . I think it's all development noe

Well I'm going to leave it a few days to settle .I heaped it yesterday so freshened it up .
The only flies about would be those tiny ones .

Someone posted on the Facebook group "celebrating smallholding" a similar thing, wonder if this is your neighbour.

Offer to build a wall of straw bales to block the view smell until the hedge can grow high enough to keep it out and remind her that all the flies and midges are food for birds, spiders etc etc.
