Another wheel rim size / width thread!

Evening,

Quick question for the tyre minded people, sorry I know these questions get asked so often...

Deere tractor, currently on 650/65-R38 rear and 540/65-R28 front..... To reduce width, ideally to 520 rears, am I correct in saying it would be safe to change to 520/85-R38 rear and 420/85-R28 front and ratios would be correct?

Secondly, would the narrower tyres fit on the existing rims? Or would the rims be to wide / require changing also?

We have two 6155 here one on 650 and other on 20.8will have a look at rims later see if rims are same

Depends on the rims. My NH came on the smallest size rims permitted for the tyres so would actually be a better fit on narrower rubber. The rim size is usually stamped on to the rim somewhere.

I think your rims will be too wide for your 85% equivalents.

580/70R38 and 480/70R28 would be a better fit.

Is that not the same tyre?

One is on 650 38 the other is 20.8 /38 which is same as ur 520/85r 38
