is it possible to incorporate parts of an expired equine -jammed in it's stable- into this repair somehow?
(sorry if this has already been suggested)

still trying pull the bolt straight out. Still has shocks to cope with.
if your ramp is trying to pull the bolt out there is something wrong the ropes take the stress you could if brave enough use a 4 poster without bolts to lift a car its the sideways movement that will cause them to collapse the stresses are not the same as a concrete block hanging off the back of a tractor

I might Weigh in here if ye dont mind.....

way down to the hardware and get yourself a heavy duty washer, it ill be about 8mm thick, one that ill fit over the bar just.
chip off a tad of concrete enough to let the washer sit about 8mm below the bar, turn up the welder to burn off the zinc and sow the lot up, the concrete will get excited but your a man...
tack your bar to the top of that mound and weld the lot together.
take your time and weld it right, its not a race.

Let me think what we did with ours ( Same situation but it was a long time ago)
Chip some of the concrete out around the broken bit to expose more of it. Weld the hook back on. Weld a of short length of rod or headless bolts either side of it for added strength.
I paid a visit to our old place a couple of weeks back. Bugger me that old home brewed counterweight is still there! No idea whether the present owner ever uses it or not.

Bit of a late update to this one but it was only finally sorted today.

I tried bodging it and bolted a bit of plate on with some chain around the lifting bar. Lasted a couple of weeks before the anchors ripped out of the concrete. Cost = £5.

So I made a new one with an old cold water tank, some scaffold tube and of course, some concrete.

Not as easy to pick up as the other one but it doesn't swing around and catch the arms. Took me and my Dad a few hours. Cost = £10.

So the moral of the story is......

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.
