Any recommendations for 240v concrete breaker (kango)?

For general farm work breaking blocks/concrete. Go cheap and cheerful and replace often or is it worth spending a few £100s more and why?

I know a couple of builders, both use Screwfix titan breakers both have kangos but the titan is the one that is used the most on site. Lighter to use, less desirable to steal and put up with the work.

I don't think they sell the titan any more but they did have a 2 year warranty. They do others in that price bracket just make sure it's one with replaceable brushes in the motor.

I have a Titan. Think I paid around £100 for it. Massively exceeded expectations. It paid for itself on the first job and is still going 3 years later.

As above I have a titan as well, bought it when house building and didn't expect it to last but still going strong.

i have one from aldi, done a lot of work with it and has been fine, 3 year guarantee with it too. Cost me £100 and they even gave me a vat receipt so could claim the vat back

Aldi 1 here as well, £100 a few years ago better than a sledgehammer and a pinch bar

I have a Dewalt pavement breaker 10 years old and still in good condition. 240 volt one are not very common

All the hire companies seem to use Bosch 110v versions. Guess they may well do a 240v also.

For a work situation, 240V carries far greater HSE expectation of maintenance/ documentation of checks etc. I'd be aiming for 110V as a default choice if I was using them in a business.

I bought a big Erbaur 240v one from Screwfix, to break up 5" of concrete over about 1200sq ft, it worked really well but was a bit more money than the Titan one. It will pecker a hole straight through a slab.
First one had a fault, they replaced it no questions asked and replacement still going strong. Highly recommend.

That's interesting. Similar price to that I pay for the largest electric breakers. Be interesting to compare the weight as they all seem quite a lump to me.

This is what we have , really handy around the farm and been no bother . 5 year old.

I’ve got a Titan from screw fix.
Use it to knock holes in concrete for gateposts, break concrete to put water pipe in sheds, and most often to break floors in houses to insulate and replace or install underfloor heating.
I’ve had it over 5 years and it cost me £125 plus vat.

Ive used a deWalt 110v breaker for about 10 years. Can’t fault it.
Use it for breaking concrete around gateposts mostly.
