All management systems show faults time to time. Think it is just to test our patience
Yesterday my X3 told me I had a chassis fault, drive slowly to dealer. Luckily today it seems to have forgotten about it.
When I had an RR sport , it was a rare day not to have another fault report, just the same as my fastrac every day

In our 6430, the EGR was sooted up because we had a slow leak in a head gasket. Leak was so slow that we barely noticed the loss in coolant.
Over time, the coolant caused the sooting. Both EGR & gasket were replaced.
It could be something completely different on yours.
