It’s raining here now in York, looks like thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow then wet day Tuesday. Then it looks settled, not really hot and not much wind, do I mow for hay? Or wait for a better looking forecast? We might not get a better looking forecast!

Been raining heavily here for a couple of hours. Just as we were spraying maize. You said it wouldn’t rain:(

Light rain in Wellington... but Herself went to visit a garden near Berriew today, and it was pissing down by 3.30. Thousands of bales in plastic since we came down the same road yesterday afternoon. :)

Got my hay....lage wrapped last night. Should have done it myself, but was on standby for a hospital visit to the SE. and thought lets safeguard it as the Fusion was going past...

14 acres down yesterday. Greener than usual but dried a fair bit already. Accepted it is going to get wet tomorrow but will have 4 good days forecast after that

Go for it. I'm mowing Wednesday, not that we are that close to one another... but like you say, we may not get a better forecast.

Not even thinking about it here for a good while yet. Finished clearing 30ac of haylage bales this morning and the ground is so wet and soft. Not a chance of drying anything lying on that any time soon.
That was before the torrential rain this afternoon topped it up a bit more.

If we have a week at 30 degrees, it might dry the ground enough to think about starting....

Certainly don’t want to wrap any more. I have 430 bales stacked already, when I only normally use about 60 myself! Could do with a drought to create a demand now.:sneaky:

20 minutes ago it started raining 30 minutes ago trailers full of round bales under shed ,lucky with that, but some that we had hoped to get for small bale hay is now going to be wrapped for small bale haylage in the morning as its well got but not hay so best of a bad job , will have to try for little bale hay next week after 1st july when we can cut the" fallow" and there is always 2nd cut

It’s only June.:scratchhead: Plenty of time for a better forecast yet.

Did last year spoil everyone into thinking they can reliably make hay in June? There’s only been odd occasions in my lifetime when we made hay before Royal Show week (early July for those that don’t remember).
