I cut three fields for haylage last year, the rest being short, lush grass but made fantastic hay easily enough. From the same three fields baled last Friday, we had 300 bales. Last year they did 120 bales, albeit better quality (17%CP). I just hope there’s a market for it....
I suspect you are like us, and any hay market is going westwards. Based on all the decent crops beyond Newtown, I think the demand may be modest...
