Tempted to get some N on, early and cold but conditions are superb and early N always delivers in my opinion. Anyone else?

We’re doing a little bit, mainly to train a new relief operator before we really get going.
Nothing looks hungry yet.
I have some very yellow barley (which is normal) but all I did was use the dry weather to give it a tickle of Mn a fortnight ago which I think was more helpful.Exactly, winter barley is usually the first indicator and I haven't seen any yellow crops yet. Still waiting for the rainfall to balance out this long dry spell, if it comes any applied N will be gone before the crop starts looking for it.
And people complain about being put in nvz zones due to high levels of nitrates in rivers!
Lash it on then, if you think no leaching is going to occur.
Same here, even the Barley doesn't look hungry.Too early. I hope the doses are small. I don't see any crop making use of more than a few kg of N for at least 6 weeks yet. There's a lot of winter left, short days, cold soils & leaching potential. Most of the neighbours are still on P and K doses.
I plan to start on backwards osr in 3 weeks depending on conditions. Wheats can wait longer. Nothing looks hungry yet.
