A dull morning but that never stops farming! As the cows are getting finished milking, fresh food awaits for them...

A mix of silage, straw, meal and minerals mixed and fed through the Keenan Diet Feeder with the John Deere 6230 providing the muscle... All feeding is done via the JCB TM320 and JCB Shear grab cutting through the silage at ease...

Something a little different is the farms approach to straw chopping Turnavidock Farm bought a second hand straw chopper and modified it with an old double chop spout which saves on time when feeding and beeding 250 dairy cows as well as followers.

By blowing the chopped straw directly into the feeder it saves on the diet feeding having to chop it. John Deere 6130R working the chopper while filling

Fendt 820 Black Beauty & Lemken 5 Furrow Plough | Winter Stubble Ploughing​

Robert working winter cereals ready for sowing again into winter wheat with the Fendt 820 Black Beauty Edition man handling the 5 furrow Lemken plough. Fendt 820 was an icon when it got released in 2006 and went on to become a major workhorse for a lot of farms and very much punched well above her weight. Weighing in at 7 tonne packing 207hp pocket rocket comes to mind Robert previously had this ground sown in winter oats which we caught combining which will premier later in the year... #arimagery #farming #agriculture #farmlife

Caught up with Goldplough Farms feeding the dairy cattle with the John Deere 6320 with the Keenan Mechfiber 350 and the Venieri 8.63 pivot loader... Mix of silage and whole crop for the dairy cows as they are fed pellet during milking at the robot. T

his sheargrab has seen thousands of tonnes of silage and a fair share of shovels...well shows they made em tough in the olden days...

John Deere 9800i & 30R | Wholecrop Oats and Grass | Silage​

Oats was direct drilled into the silage field and grown along side the grass to give a nice Oat & Silage mixture, mown down with the Krone Big M 450 and grouped to save using the wholecrop header... John Deere 9800i with the new 30R header not missing a single beat as she works her way through the field... Morning catching up with Ballycairn Farms with the Pedigree Holstein Cattle. It was great to put a video together following from last years footage and seeing how it works back into feeding the cattle. Milking 270 cattle with super yielders, high yielders with freshly calved cows are part of a 3 group system going through the farm. Alexander feeding with the Massey Ferguson 4270 & Keenan Mechfiber 370 with the Manitou 733-115 providing the muscle for loading. Plus...who can resist the little boops!!

Carting back to the silage pit is a mix of John Deere, Case IH and Case IH Tractors.
