Purcell Farms working outside Limavady with two farms and two sets of dairy cattle. Running Mostly John Deere tractors with the New Holland Combine and the two JCB loading Shovels. Growing wheat, barley and rye which is used to feed the dairy cattle and sheep throughout the winter months.

While checking the progress on the new dairy parlour I managed to catch up with the evening feeding. Feeding 327 head of cattle just after they get milked a mix of silage & maize is fed to the cattle at Montgomery Farms. JCB TM420s on the Redrock 180 shear bucket with the 500/70 R24 Camso tyres to keep the 620s off the concrete in the winter months. With the Case Puma 150 on the Keenan Diet Feeder Tho I can not wait to show the new parlour over the next few weeks...

Connelly Farms with the impressive Claas Jaguar 870 lifting there own silage beside the home yard. Working her way through 40fts of grass with 530 horsepower that distinctive purr from the 16 litre Mercedes engine. Working with a fleet of John Deere 6R and some of the new design 6rs as well...

Working stubbles for sowing back into grass and second whole crop after winter rye was cut a few days before hand.

Carsehall Farms are using the muck from the high yielding cattle to then spread onto stubbles to build the soil organic matter. Loading with the Redrock TH300 and muck grape into the Bergmann TSW 5210 S spreader with the Claas Axion 810 on front.

Spreading at 30 metres to match into the tramlines of the sprayer.

With ground drying up, I get caught up with Black Brae Farms spreading digestate with the Fendt 516 and the 15m AgQuip Dribble Bar. Chatting with Jason in the Fendt 718 on the Doda pump with the New Holland TM190 on the concrete store mixer. 32,000 gallon an hour not acre btw!! #arimagery #farming #agriculture #farmlife

Spreading slurry through the 12m AgQuip Dribble bar onto grazing ground. Using the Aluminium trailer as a nurse tank with a few of the tankers carting to outlying ground. Running 900s and 750s on the Case Puma 175 CVX giving her great floatation and ground travelling ability. One of 3 dribble bar systems with R Killen & Sons.

Given the recent weather I was shocked to see potatoes going in but it was great to catch up with Croskery Contracts and McCallister Potatoes. Davy from Croskery Contracts with the New Holland T7.200 Auto Command with one on the Reekie working the beds and the other on the Grimme CS150 Destoner... Great to get a chat with Davy in cab chatting about spuds and farming in general. McCallister Potatoes with the Classic TS110 on the Horstine front fertiliser tank and the Kverneland Underhaug 3000 dropper. With the early potatoes we see a smaller ridge left down the field with is then used to cover the potatoes with a Plastic cover with perforated holes in it to allow the potatoes to breath. Plus we get a chat to Davy over his models and the working display he had at the toy shows last year.
