Morning catching up with Andrew McCallister feeding with the John Deere 6630 Premium. On site is the extremely well known Kramer 412 E which is on farm 39 years!! With the recent addition of the diet feeder, minus the extension of the feeding ring. Working the same field filmed earlier in the season Carsehall Farm taking a second cut of wholecrop undersown with grass. Silage Rye Wholecrop | John Deere 9500i | Lyons Contracts​

Late one evening in that evening lull of darkness Purcell Farms got stuck into second cut silage and wholecrop Rye. Lyons Contracts new John Deere 9500i with the 5m Wholecrop header working her way through the crop just on the outskirts of Limavady John Deere 9500i chopping at 25-30mm using all 756hp as Squeak was pushing her on. Chasing Montgomery Farms through 2023 was a fun experience and seeing a few more John Deere Tractors coming on farm. With the home farm looking after 300 cattle and a busy contracting business the boys are kept on there toes.

Drenagh Farms getting the grass growing as it comes out of the winter period with some digestate. Grass is grown for both the dairy cattle and the farms on site digester. Carting to the outlying ground with a mix of tankers to the Herron H2 setup as a nurse tank and the New Holland T7.200 on the doda pump. Joe in the Case 175 CVX with the 900s and 710s and I do admit the White wheels really do suit her. 5 furrow Kverneland, 5 furrow Lemken, 5 furrow Kuhn side by side turning over stubble for wholecrop. R Killen & Sons back in the same block turning it over for a winter wholcrop with all 3 5 furrow ploughs working side by side...Both new additions to the fleet working with Blair & Jimmy in the T7.210s and the Case Puma 200 CVX absolutely running riot out in front. #arimagery #farming #agriculture #farmlife

Hamills of Ballindreen getting the dairy cattle fed just after milking time. Massey Ferguson 6480 on the Troilet diet feeder with 7tonne of food being fed to each side of the passage way. Cattle are being fed with the Kramer KL30.8T & NC Sheargrab. Being fed is 280 cows, which are milked twice a day. With a mix of 2022 First cut, 2023 first cut and some 2023 third cut with straw and meal added to the mix to keep the cows at there very best.

Working in autumn last season when we got a dry few hours, Bru in the John Deere 6155R on the Lemken 3m combi sowing winter rye while chasing Tom & Gary in the 6145R and 4 furrow ploughs trying to keep ahead of him. Sowing Hybrid rye to feed the digester, and first time iv seen this ground ploughed in long time giving it a much needed rejuvenation with crop. Working not far from the home yard both Hitachi Zaxxis 130-6s working with the Raptor rock breakers working through a Rock hill ready for crushing. With both diggers kitted out with the Rock Breakers Raptor R-500M they are not long in breaking a pile of rock apart for crushing. With harsh weather for harvest ground in poor condition and the barley toppled over with wind and rain Mark from Drumcroon Farm working the New Holland CX5.80. With the barley only a few inches high and in some cases flat to the ground its almost like a salvage job. A normal site for farming last harvest with yields and straw down and the ever increasing prices. Winter barley was burned off on the 8th July and it took to the 3rd of August to combine the field. Orwell yielded well with an average yield of 2.95 tonne / acre #arimagery #farming #agriculture #farmlife
