This is the best thing you’ve ever postedSo........ which is best.......skiing at Christmas, or spend all summer trawling the shows, collecting rosettes whilst wearing a stupid hat, whilst contractors get on with the silage and other work at home........

I grew up on a livestock farm so made a conscious choice that was not how I wanted to spend my life. I wanted 3 things from my career choice, 1) enjoyment 2) time away from it to enjoy none working life / relationships with others and 3) the money to allow me and my family choices , experiences and opportunities
although carrying on as a livestock farmer like my father “maybe” offered number 1 it never looked likely to deliver number 2 or 3 ! i’m lucky that the choice I did make has done so however
greatest of respect to those that do keep livestock as i do know first hand how hard and committed it is Arable isn’t always easy but it’s certainly a LOT easier than livestock farming in my experience
Steady on there, I’m not skiing until the 7th….but I’ve got some spanner’s to tidy so I’ll be busy for a week before I go….Please dont take the p!ss out of arable farmers ….
…. As they will either be on the slopes or on the beach and therefore away from the internet and the right of reply
I’d say you got off lightly73kph snowboard wipeout ! Cracked ribs for christmas

Weather is the great leveller and can destroy a seasons work in 24hours such as wind turning OSR from brown, full pods to white empty ones .. or disastrously picking Moulin as your wheat variety of choice.
Now I mess about with 166 cows and spend my life coated in slurry to the extent that I have to take my trousers off as soon as walk in door .. By Order
