Arla are to offer a £2000 signing on bonus to drivers ... presumably for delivery drivers rather than collecting.

I think the thread title is a bit misleading. Highly unlikely any s/markets will run out of milk (unless the publicity causes panic buying) as they generally have a couple of days stock. Orders are usually 50% up at the end of the week anyway, so over the seven days, things will even out.

There will be a catch somewhere, such as must stay for a year.
I wonder if they will look after existing drivers? You'd be a bit fed up if you'd been there for 20 years and some new hire was on more than you.
I think that's the problem at the moment, companies aren't doing enough to retain drivers and are fighting each other over new recruits.
It's a drivers market for a change, no bad thing.

Afaik contracts with supermarkets stipulate daily deliveries of milk. So it’s likely they’ll get by with eod.

Arla Tanker drivers are now getting extra for working rest days and weekends.
Know 2 farms with Muller who have tipped milk away because of no drivers.

If the supermarkets can't supply milk I will pop up the road and pay our local dairy farmer £10 for 8 litres of his finest straight out of the tank!
