saw a spread out 2 mile convoy near Thetford yesterday morning, about seven Police 4x4s, at least two navy blue Police trucks ( looked like armoured ) and several unusual Army curtainsiders.
Any ideas what they could be?

Biden`s cars from the G7 being flown back home from Mildenhall or the like?
Probably cheaper to trailer them than drive them!

Probably military ordanance going to the battle area

Sounds like 'dogging' or 'seagulling'!!;);)

Dogging in the Mendips, cripes. Sounds like the title for a good mystery thriller right there. Be a bit strange for most folk's tastes though, myself included.

I can't think of a scarier place to be on a dark and misty night than traversing the Mendips looking for a secluded lay by or bus shelter... fudge that. Things that go bump in the night and so forth. You'd need a braver man than me.

Nah. Ollie is spot on. It'll be buckets of instant sunshine being moved around (there's loads of different routes they use). Blue wagons are MoD plod, the big green 'uns are TCHD's. You probably missed the support vehicles that both precede and follow the convoy.

Remind me how many unemployed we have in this country, perhaps some of those graduates of social and media studies might like to get a proper job .
I really cant believe that we cant find a few thousand drivers among the million plus on the dole, the country needs a bloody good shake up and getting the over qualified yet incapable idiots to do a proper job is the place to start

I wouldn't trust most of them to drive a shopping trolley, never mind a 44 tonne artic.

I think an increasing number of young people are not even bothering with an ordinary driving licence let alone an hgv.
The cost of running a car is just too prohibitive.
Which has exactly what to do with getting a job driving trucks, of course it's much easier going to uni to get an ology in some useless subject get landed with a large debt and then go stack shelves in a supermarket.

Do keep up. The thread is about a shortage of delivery drivers. To be a delivery driver a prime requirement is a driving licence.
You said the cost of running a car was too prohibitive, you dont need to own a car to drive a truck. You do need a licence of course but you didnt say it costs too much to get a licence. I have pa licence to use sprayers, I don't need to own a self propelled to drive someone else's. Remind me again the number of unemployed in this country, now tell me again we cant find a decent number with driving licences that could be trained to drive trucks. It's funny how remainers say that leave voters blame everything on the EU well it looks like remainers now blame everything on us leaving the EU

Not sure they are commies, they normally have a bit of fight, these sound more like champagne socialists, give up at the slightest problem
