Bale trailer with sheep’s sides

Hi all in the middle of making a bale trailer 24ft on twin axels but I also want to double it as a sheep trailer light mesh sides that are completely detachable and ramp also. I don’t want to use a stock box as we only stock sheep and want them as light as possible. Has anyone seen one made up before or done this way or can they show post some pics on how it was done/made as I want to make it as neat as possible..
thanks
Tommy

You might be ok round the farm but won’t be legal on the road without some sort of roof to stop escaping. Our 26ft Stewart box only weighs 1.5 tons and really behind a tractor the weight is almost insignificant

Might work. Presumably you'll never take it on the road?

Would a couple of old ifor demount shells joined together do your job? Your idea is good but the sides might push out with some pressure on.

I was thinking myself maybe even struts for support from each side maybe 5/6 struts you’d slot in and support the sides Incase I was even bringing any heavy ewes.. it would be doing some road work but very limited maximum 6/7mile or so. I’m open to suggestions and ideas I could just buy a livestock trailer but I’d like to kill two birds with the one stone less space in the shed too if ya get me..

I have seen one advertised local not a bad design but I’d much rather have my rear ramp completely removable and I’d much rather have stronger sides but still able to lift them and as I said I’d strut both sides together for support..

It would actually work fine hard picked up but I wouldn’t rule that idea out at all. Be stronger too

Even the wagons moved over to roll sheets in the end for their older boxes.

With all that faff and if there's a reasonable number of sheep my money is on a second dedicated livestock box or a proper proprietary demount box quite quickly
I tend to agree I’ve learned through experiance multi function trailers are a ball ache better having one for each job to an extent

Like said above get a Stewart box mount it on trailer when you want bale trailer back it in shed javk body up and pull trailer out then when you've finished back trailer under box taking up same space as just trailer would

They'll be fairly strong hinged to bed and got support posts to could add some bars across top to carry tarp. Wouldn't be the quickest to turn back into a bale trailer though

And then you have to duck under the tarp hoops?
