So today's enemy on the news are Wood burning Stoves and Slurry Spreading
Am I missing something or where does that leave biomass burners
Someone has already written more damaging that coal fired power stations if you take the loss of trees into account .

Michael Gove should not be allowed near decision-making as regards the countryside. Wood fires and stoves are an essential and natural resource for warming houses and water. Spreading slurry saves manufacturing artificial fertiliser. I am too much of a country bumpkin to know the polluting effect of fertiliser manufacture but slurry has got to be more natural...especially when sprayed into Defra headquarters.

If I don't coppoce the hedges they would die off or just take over the whole farm. If I didn't heat my house with a wood burner what would I do with all that wood.

I have a client who wasn't allowed to spread non PAS110 digestate on land on Anglesey because the groundwater, however many metres under the soil surface it is, was polluted with inorganic N. So how is stopping him spreading the stuff and make the farmer use more, rather than less, inorganic N going to make that better ??? :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Lets perspective and look into the issue rather than respond to lazy journalist headlines

The issue is lazy users who do not season the wood they use properly or buy cheap damp unseasoned logs and burn them straight away

When they banned non smokeless rules in cities in the last century it cleaned the air up and reduced the smogs

Good suppliers season their logs properly the rest should be banned unless householders have enough storage to dry their logs over the summer
A wood store with a tin roof and ventilation under the logs dries its self over the summer
