barley beef need some advice

Who knows what fatting beef cattle need my ration is just not cutting it.
This is about the mix
Wheat / barley 30/70 %. 750 kg
Soya / beet nut mixed 50/50 % 150kg
Molasis 50 kg
Minerals 12-15 kg/ t
Any help/ advice on improving this mix don’t really want to by anything else if poss as only fatting 10-15 at the min.

calves to 6mts ad-lib to kick them on, then bag feed as they eat so much then upped feed last 4 mts to finish but still feeding away . Think add lib from tomorrow.

I will send a sample off to check for worms tho . They’ve never been wormed they have never been out. Hadn’t crossed my mind worth checking. Yes will give them a extra feed mid day for couple of days

What is the bushel weight of the barkey/wheat?

I which way are they not performing? Gaining weight or finishing condition?

If they,ve never been out they will of gone stale, usually find cattle do better on feed when they,ve spent time at grass

If on ad lib at such a young age he has overcooked them and their rumen will not be correct, I have seen it before, also not helping the situation is the fact he doesn't seem to be giving them a rumen buffer like Bi carb for example.

I find that hard,cold cattle will put on at least kilo and a half a day once on feed but soft hard fed young ones will do little over a kilo a day

This bicarb, how is it incorporated into the diet and in what quantities?

and in what way does it prevent foot trouble? i assume you mean helps prevent lameness?
