Battersby fan Club

Amazing . Maybe my crime was asking when farmers would be consulted about RT and if GFC would be introduced around April in RT "voluntarily " .........

I also said your Tweet could no way be seen as a death threat and nor could the original reply by George Dunn be seen as condoning such

You and @Clive are clearly seen as farming elites that are too powerful to block unlike us peasants like @MrNoo and me

Wouldn't worry too much, Bat crazy is gonna be gone soon - mind you she'll probably end up in the Lords like they all do

possibly she sees Clive as a bigger enemy and is keeping him close.

ive been blocked from twitter and i really dont know why, as far as i know tve never commented on there come to think of it nor do i want too either.

Think you have to verify using a mobile phone, I did try it many years ago but seemed to be a bullying platform with large political groups jumping on a message regardless of the facts

Perhaps worth trying to get BFU some backing with "Likes" & "Reposts" which increases coverage to other people

But really needs basic messages most people can agree with to get the ball rolling - No Farmers No Food seem to be doing ok - not sure who is fronting that one

Seems as thought there's several members of this club, and seemingly often for little reason. It's beyond belief.
Full disclosure here- I believe this is the only post I tagged Minette in. Does this count as bullying or worse? Good job that those at the top table don’t have thin skins!

Cripes, you got blocked for that!! It's a genuine question and reasonably polite as well.

Some people are really wanting to control what's said, so it looks like there's no opposition.

Even Abi Kay got told to pipe down. Not sure who it was, but someone tried to silence her.

It's like something out of a movie.

Hands up everyone on here who thinks that the fundamental, structural problems with the NFU will change with a change in President.
Good question. I'm not putting my hand up just yet. Will have to wait and see, but it's not looking good imho.
If you insist... Not sure I entirely understand how it works though.
I think we need to all start using twitter more. Just try not to get blocked.

@Abi Kay have you been told to pipe down ? Really hope you're railing against that one

As a gold standard reporter and correspondent you'll have the greater respect for holding us ALL to account

Do you recall the exact wording of your tweet? Seems strange she would get funny if you had used the same words she had?

There is always someone trying to slience someone else. Its becoming a massive problem in this country more generally as freedom of speech seems to be a rather old fashioned idea...

Partly why I'm not a fan of twitter is it is based off of followers and reposting things to them. I much prefer this forum as one can put a post on and there is pretty much an equal chance of someone viewing my post as there is someone viewing yours. Twitter will also show people what they want to see, which doesnt help at all. As a way of the great and the good announcing stuff to us lowly masses, it's great. As a way of everybody having a proper discussion, not so much.

On if the NFU will change post Batters, I don't hold the same view of her that some on here do. Some of you seem to think she's the devil in human form; personally I think she's done quite well in a lot of things up until fairly recently when its all gone a bit tits up. Hence I can only conclude that the problems within the NFU run much deeper than the leader. Take the sponsorship of their conference for example, supermarket after supermarket after supermarket. Since when have they been on our side? The very nature of the NFU trying to suck up to the likes of ASDA etc is they cant say anything that might annoy them - usually the things that need saying in the farmer's interests! That I'm sure is partially why they are so keen on RT (and GFC), remember "If you dont like it, find another buyer". I believe that the outside interests which have wormed their way into the NFU are the major issue, and I cant see it changing any time soon. What is the personal benefit to Minette of pushing through the GFC and forcing everyone to stay in RT? Is there one? I cant think of one myself. All it's done is tarnish her legacy. The ones that win from it also happen to be the ones shoveling in money... funny that isnt it?

The personal benefit to Minette would be a place on the board of RT,NFU or AIC.It's that simple.

Ps Even the BRC maybe.

Good riddance.

She just blocked me, not made any recent comments to her, just liked some criticising posts!
Don't do this Twitter thing, so I've no idea how it all works, but will she have some kind of 'setting' on it, that is doing all this blocking automatically?

Surely she (or some minion) is not sitting there reading all that stuff and manually blocking you guys for 'liking' the odd post here and there 🤷‍♂️

Pretty sure the latter too, such is her obsession with her pet project and so called legacy.

Will someone as ‘important’ as that be like Packham and have a ‘little person’ running her account for her so she doesn’t have to get her fingers dirty, and also so she can shift blame if something appears on her account that, with hindsight, was inappropriate?
