Is this all because better quality or was trade better? Anyone go?View attachment 833305
Oh and an average of £1058 head for prime cattle is certainly NOT a good trade!

Not good!Well probably should of stayed at home but how much worse is it going to get 42kg Cheviot Mules £62.50 40kg Charley out of Cheviots £63 average £1.52
I thought you were done with mules, or did you feel that you were too far down the Texel type path?We got a couple of pens of mule hoggs for £150, first mules in 5 years but like breeding my own gimmers... was plenty of small badly shaped things £60-75

I didn't say it was I was just wondering weather it was quality only that AVE was up or weather trade was up a little.Oh and an average of £1058 head for prime cattle is certainly NOT a good trade!
I feel better about paying 140 for shearlings now
These were as big as shearlings...and I’d rather buy lambs...the substantial luck money helped the jobI feel better about paying 140 for shearlings now

Out of interest where do you send your cattle to?If the subs go it certainly will be carnage in the beef/lamb sectors unless prices increase by 50% on todays prices!
Totally agreeSorry Shebb90 my comment wasn't aimed at you but the fact that the market reports highlights in red the average of £1058 and thus by doing so are trying to make out it was a really good trade when that sort of average for prime cattle in this day and age is a complete nonsense and far too low!
I was only there on the Monday and didn’t spend all day there....but good well bred well grown lambs were a good trade anything else was cheap...some no more than fat pricesHow was trade in general at Hawes @Northeastfarmer ??
He is a very wealthy guy...did you not know ha haYou paid £150 for mule ewe lambs?
