Anybody go to Ashford store lamb sale today..if so how was trade...store in my view with the political situation and the finished trade are a fiver to dear in my eyes

I was there and yes mostly the lambs were a little dearer, but the quality was good and many of the bigger stronger lambs at close to £60.00 would have been weighing over 38kgs. So while they appeared a little dearer in reality probably similar to what it has been.
Smaller poorly bred lambs in the £40's with smaller better bred at low £50's.
Lambs at these prices do not encourage people to continue with sheep as was shown by the breeders with shearling Mules up to £115 and Suffolk Mules similar. Texel cross decent sorts in the £80's.

About half the rams sold.
Plenty of away buyers today as no one local is buying as there is no grass or fodder at all. Many sellers are forced to get rid of them due to the drought.

We have been feeding our ewes for nearly 2 weeks and the cattle are on full winter feed now. Everything is brown and dusty.
It has been so dry that all the springs have now dried up and the marsh ditches have dropped nearly 18" in the last two weeks.
