We like it on before we start lambing if conditions are right, every year is different but if we can get on then we wouldn’t be waiting till April,I agree with you, the earlier you can get some fert on the grazing ground for sheep grazing the better but down here few grass farmers venture out with the Fert spinner untill April!
Even the arable boys don't put much on untill the end of March!
I put first lot on here in April and it didn’t bloody rain till end of May

Always get the wagon gone early. They can’t cancel thenJust curious. Sent 10 to Shrewsbury on wednesday for a Thursday kill. Hour after the wagon left the yard the agent rang in a bit if a flap trying to cancel. No reason as to why.
