Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

A beef and sheep friend of mine has got a 20t cake bin and farms in the middle of two nosey neighbours.

He gets 3t delivered every three weeks and tells the driver to spout about that he fills it up!

I think it's nuts but finds it hilarious when the whispers come back to him "how the fek does he get it to pay!"
We do a bit of that here! Some of the ones that wouldn’t spend a pound to get £1.50 back especially!! Get a few snide remarks either way hogg job goes. That’s why I like to joke about it.

Like you he had a belly full of the snide /jealous comments of the store cattle and sheep he was sending to the mart, so he stopped sulking and decided to do something about it!

It helps that his cousin is the lorry driver, mind you he's not the brightest spark and knowing him he tells them that he's putting 30t in!

I bet we all have similar stories about 'how to fool your neighbours' I'm going to start a thread on it in 'off topic'

He would get a far better price buying 20t instead , and ignoring what the neighbours think

Any bargains to be had in Wednesday weaners?
I thought some of the poorer quality cattle especially towards the end of the sale were some of the dearest ive ever seen sold in my life. Very poorly grown things were making £600-£900 that would have been £300-£500 a few weeks ago. My neighbour bought a packet of little Friesian Bulls with a couple of Blues in,and said they averaged £450.Said he was going to nip them, and seemed a decent buy, although they had been on a hard farm(muck nattles had mostly dropped off)

Ha they have all lifted then!!

£6.80 this week at Kepak
107.20 I get it to at 6.40 I got £123 live on Thursday and that was blackies some of them were tups too
If it’s gone up to 6.80 and last weeks trend continues with live leading we may well see another lift in auctions or it’s likely anyway
I made the comparison at 6.40 because that was the same firms dead quote for last week who bought the hoggs off me on Thursday
Think it’s a good comparison to make
Good way to see the value of live auctions and where we would be at this point in time without them. Less £ for sure
