By the looks of hybu cig cymru market reports, looks like both old & new season prices are strengthening......
Very strong trade at Ruthin in particular.....
Yet Llanybydder and Newcastle emlyn around 310 on NSL? Ruthin at 380 🤷🏻‍♂️ This huge variation is a nightmare, same with culls, £10-20/head less compared to Ruthin

Last 50 hoggs at Kirkby tonight. Out of Texel mules by texel x beltex tups. Never been inside. Had pellets for last 3 weeks

In what way, have hogs begun to drop or are buyers of cull ewes getting fussier

Ashford today was more variable but so were the sheep.
Best meaty hoggets were still a great trade but a lot of lean unfinished that dragged down the average.
NSL were a great trade even with significantly greater numbers including a large number of 25kg what looked like Charmoise x Dorset that made around £80.00. 35kg were £130 and 40kg over £150.
Sock lambs were over £50.00.
A large number of ewes for the time of year which sold to a good trade with a lot more competition than we have seen here for a long time.

Yeh but to be fair I don't think Llanybydder or Newcastle get many sheep & perhaps what's there aren't the best of things...?

Thank God for that, our luck is in for another week.
Been hearing a lot of rumours that it was going to be NSL all the way from now on!!
Not enough springers about yet I wouldn’t of thought, only 500 in Bridgnorth yesterday, 300 in Shrewsbury, can’t do supermarket job on those numbers! 1500 hoggs in Bridgnorth, a lot of tail end’ers I’m told! Bodes well for the lambs I reckon
