Lucky you, I took in 60 sheets (about 2400 fleeces) and it seems like it’s disappeared of the face of the earth!

If you have not heard anything within 2 weeks of sending your wool in that normally means you owe the wool board some ££s..

If that is the case if you are lucky they will take if off any future payments in 10 years time that they might pay you!

If that's the case, you'd be better off not sending them any wool ever again.
Just leave you're negative balance sitting there and send it all to LP.

It is certainly the case for some farmers, 2 i know of had an invoice from the wool board to be paid within 28 days and 3 others never heard anything so called up and asked where the paperwork/ any payment was to be told that you ( the farmer ) owe us ( the wool board ) but do not worry we will take it off any future payments that may be due in future years!

All the above let the wool board collect the wool off farm so it sounds like transport is costing more than the wool is worth in some cases!

And all the above farmers would have 200+ ewes

Then you DID NOT get paid ANYTHING for your 2021 wool clip as they are NOT paying anything for that untill you take in your 2022 wool clip!

I didn’t say I did. I realise how the system works, thank you.:)

The only payment I’ve had for this year’s wool is that 5p/kg ‘fine wool premium’, for delivering 1000kg of Romney (actually Highlander) grades. The rest will come next year, once it’s sold onto that rising market…. maybe….

As things stand you should not have had any payment for this years wool including that 5pk fine wool rubbish.

Would that payment not be for the 2020 clip?

As I understand it, the rest of the payment was for the 2020 clip, which came to more than some of the Irish prices floating around on here 12 months ago.
Fortunately I’m not paying haulage (other than my own 7 mile tractor/trailer trip), or sending in poor quality hill breed wool though.
