Last week I put 65 lambs deadweight, which I thought were the better ones of the draw, i.e in spec, 405p/kg (they came back 412p in the end), unfortunately they didn't kill out quite as well as the draw 2 weeks before, I sort of expected that as we've dried right out, grass quality has dived and DLWG over the 2 weeks was poor.
18.5 kg was £76 (£72 after deductions)

I put the 35 that I felt were over fat/ short /dumpy through the local live ring.
Well they weighed on the market scales better than expected, none of the usual 2 kg lost somewhere, 202p /kg, £85.50 before deductions!
Chuffed! Should have put them all live! But dead *usually* edges it.

You can't win can you?:banghead:
Your live lambs would be heavier though(42kg)
If your deadweight lambs weighed, say 38kg, they wouldn't have come to all that much more at 202p live.
Just trying to make you feel a bit better:whistle:(y)

The deadweight lambs were 41-44kg...... but didn't kill great, at least there wasn't any 4L/H this time, only one 3h.
Probably 2/3s 3L and the rest 2, plenty of Us though hence av price being more than the quoted price.

Would like to go live next week. ...... but away at a meeting on market day! &I'm the only one here with a trailer licence :facepalm:

I heard that more lambs were coming forward with silaging quieting down so price would be looking to retreat!

I'm weighing tomorrow morning, I can't make market this week, if collection is weds or Friday I'll prob go dead weight rather than hold on another 2 weeks for next market.
